In recent days, both India and Pakistan have launched a series of missile and drone strikes. Both sides have since accused each other of taking escalatory steps
Pakistan has launched attacks on "multiple targets" across India, according to the media wing of Pakistan's military.
State-run Pakistan Television has confirmed that retaliatory attacks are underway after India fired missiles at three air bases inside Pakistan. “Multiple locations in India are being targeted in the retaliatory attacks,” the state-run media reported.
Pakistan's military said it used medium-range Fateh missiles to strike more than 25 military sites, including airbases and weapons depots in the Indian states of Gujarat, Punjab and Rajasthan, as well as locations in India-administered Kashmir.
It’s the latest escalation in a conflict triggered by a gun massacre on April 22 at a popular tourist site in Kashmir that left 26 civilians dead, mostly Hindu Indian tourists. New Delhi has blamed Pakistan for backing the assault, an accusation Islamabad rejects.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a meeting of the National Command Authority, the body which takes security decisions, including those related to the country's nuclear arsenal.

Pakistan shuts down flights countrywide
Pakistan has shut down every airport for all flight operations, according to the country’s civil aviation authority.
In a statement, it said the decision to close Pakistan’s airspace for all flights was made because of the developing situation following the attacks made by India.
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has once again imposed an air emergency across the country, suspending all flight operations until 12:00 pm today (Saturday). An official Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued to inform all relevant aviation authorities and operators.
According to a PAA statement, all airports in the country will remain closed to every type of flight during this period. This includes commercial, private, and cargo operations—no departures or landings will be permitted until the suspension is lifted.
The authority has stated that the situation is being closely monitored, and any decision to resume flight operations will depend on evolving circumstances.
